Tomahawk and Retox live at the Mayan Theater, Los Angeles

I was in for a very special treat last week on Tuesday, February 19th to see rock supergroup Tomahawk reunite for the first time in 10 years. They played live at the Mayan Theater in downtown Los Angeles to celebrate a new era free from the apocalypse. The show’s opening band was Southern California’s own Retox who went on tour with Tomahawk throughout the west coast. Both Retox and Tomahawk are on the same label called Ipecac Recordings, which is managed by former label manager of Alternative Tentacles Greg Werckman and Mike Patton the singer of Tomahawk, Fantomas, and formerly of Faith No More.

Achraf Amiri

When the work of Brussels native/London based illustrator Achraf Amiri caught my eye, I quickly became enthralled with his hauntingly sexy yet quirky detailed drawings. I had to know more about this artist who managed to bring these whimsical characters’ personalities to life: 1. When did you realize that you had artistic ability? Well, probably since around the age of five. I noticed that I was the only child in my class that could draw a Dragon Ball personified perfectly.

Russian Circles and Chelsea Wolfe at the El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

The Sargent House Records show with Deafheaven, And So I Watch You From Afar, Chelsea Wolfe, and headliners Russian Circles was an amazing mix of eclectic music and an awesome show. All the bands were great and Sargent House really knows how to organize an outstanding show. The first band Deafheaven are actually one of my new favorite bands. They are from San Francisco and toured with Russian Circles throughout the US.

Mona Wind - Life Integrity Akashic Readings

Recently I had the pleasure of speaking with Mona Wind and receiving one of her acclaimed Akashic Readings. Mona, who exhibited a deep sense of soul knowledge from a young age, is a gifted Life Coach, Reiki Master, Hypnotist, and Akashic Reader. An Akashic reading is quite different from a traditional psychic reading and although Edward Cayce popularized the term, it’s one that has existed for years in many spiritual traditions.
