Paris Perfect Rentals - Paris

During the planning phase before my recent trip to Paris, I decided that I wanted to find an alternative to a hotel stay by renting a luxury apartment. I discovered also known as “the wine apartments” because the owners named each and every apartment after their favorite wines. I imagined what it would be like to stay in an apartment rental which would not only make me feel like a resident of Paris but also serve me well with all of the same important amenities of my own home such as a kitchen, washer and dryer.

St. James Hotel - Paris

Located in the 16th Arr., The St. James is the only château-style hôtel in Paris. Nestled in a lush green setting you would almost forget you’re right in the center of Paris and only a mere stone’s throw from the Arc de Triomphe and Avenue Victor Hugo. This stunning but small “mini château” only has 48 rooms including 20 Junior Suites, 11 full sized Suites and two Pavilion rooms, which stand alone located at the entrance of the main building (each with their own built in Turkish style hammams!

Brasserie Thoumieux - Paris

Jean-François Piège, a very great and talented chef, helms Thoumieux. After a few years of experience at the Hôtel de Crillon, he is now at this kind of kitschy-chic brasserie with red seats, black marble top bistro tables, Christofle silver cutlery and a lounge at the entrance. On the walls, mirrors flanked by sconces and lithographs give a feel of the Belle Epoque. Straightway you are greeted with a slightly tangy sardine rillette, coarse salt, Bordier butter and cunningly sliced Poujauran bread.

Eurostar: St. Pancras to Gare Du Nord

Eurostar is a fabulous way to travel; it was everything expected and more. My colleague and I boarded the train at St. Pancras station in London with plans to go to Brussels, Belgium. St. Pancras was well organized making it easy to find our train. St. Pancras also offered no-charge “easy-cart’s” accessible, right at the station’s entrance. When we arrived at the train we were ushered to our spacious seats and our bags were stowed away by the courteous staff.

Paris By Heart - Paris

Paris by Heart began before the Internet age to help a French friend, and quickly mushroomed from one friend to another and one client to another simply by word of mouth. Starting with one classified ad, one apartment, and the first family PBH helped, it was strictly informal, with hand written letters and color photos sent by postal mail. From the beginning PBH was built upon trust, service, and a desire to help people by providing a bridge between two countries, two cultures, and two peoples.

Hotel de Buci - Paris

The enchanting ‘boudoir’ styled hotel is the epitome of Parisian chic and features petite but most attractive rooms decorated with elegant wallpaper and stylish furniture. Located on Rue de Buci the hotel is aptly named and in one of the best areas of Paris -the St. Germain district. The area is high in tourist numbers but it does not have a cheesy touristy vibe. As you walk the streets you don’t necessarily feel like you’re surrounded by tourist.
