The Le Meridien Bristol is Warsaw’s treasure. Located in the most elegant street of the city, on the “King’s Walk”, the hotel graciously combines Old-World charm with contemporary luxury. The original interior design was signed Otto Wagner the Younger who gave Warsaw a splendid example of Viennese Art Nouveau at the turn of the 19th to 20th Century. The ceiling of the hall is already by itself a pure visual delight. Naively painted blue and red balloons with golden and black details seem to try to fly away from the hall. Bristol is exactly the hotel I need to feel good, because it has soul, something you can not find easily in other chain hotels. Just feeling the more than a century of history of the building puts you automatically in special state of mind. I stayed in room 205 which was a very big suite, with a gigantic bed, high ceiling, marbled bathroom, classic wallpaper and furniture. At Bristol Hotel, art is everywhere, even in the elevators and at the entrances. Different artists have developed 24hr sound-scapes to make you breathe while you are going up and down and in and out. When I was there I could listen to the creation of French musician and composer Henri Scars Struck that brought to my ears a blending of rich natural sounds with music elements from all over the world. Before going back to my room I’ve enjoyed dropping by Przekaski Zakaski, a bar restaurant that is open 24hrs where Warsawers like to get a bite after partying or actually after-party. How convenient was it for me use to have to cross to road to go to bed afterward!

When I woke up, I took my breakfast in the backyard of the hotel where I appreciated starting the day sitting in the shade and being able to choose yummy dishes among hundreds of international options. Afterward I went to visit the Old Town of Warsaw, that was only a short walk away. It was very impressive to see how such a big historic area has been rebuilt identically to its original look after World War 2. Opera House and the National Opera are as well a walking distance from the hotel. To have a coffee and a piece of cake during the day Bristol Cafe is the most charming choice ever. I fell in love with the cosiness of its black and white checked floor. In case I haven’t been complimentary enough about the Bristol, I can mention how kind and helpful was the stuff at any moment of my stay. The conclusion is quite obvious: Bristol is the greatest hotel in Warsaw!
