Having crisscrossed the globe, spanning cities from Los Angeles to London, and virtually everywhere in between, I consider myself, not only a travel aficionado, but also somewhat of a spa connoisseur. Always on the hunt for the holy grail of massages and facials, I never would‘ve guessed that my search for the perfect spa experience would be found in my own backyard…well, not quite my backyard, but close enough!

Haven, a spa in Soho, NYC, is a serene oasis, providing a calm refuge from the hustle and bustle of the streets of New York. I walked into Haven with tension radiating through my back and shoulders and in muscles I didn’t even know existed!! However, all of the aforementioned tension instantly melted away as soon as my masseuse, Mui, started to work her magic on me. She instinctively knew just the right amount of pressure to apply, and where each and every one of my kinks and knots were located. I was literally pain free and actually felt more flexible after just a mere hour under her care. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Mui is the BEST masseuse I have ever had in my life…hands down (no pun intended)! I walked to my next treatment, feeling as though I were floating on a cloud.

My microdermabrasion facial was also of an equally high standard of excellence as my massage, although perhaps not quite as relaxing. That said, I would take a deep pore extraction and some microdermabrasion skin shedding any day, over a “pseudo-spa facial” that doesn’t actually produce any results. Again, I noticed almost immediate results with my facial…. Clearer skin and a reduction in fine lines were noticeable within days of my treatment. I will definitely be making this a regular part of my skincare regime.

Last but certainly not least, I indulged in an opulent pedicure, in my nail polish color of choice, “Cherry Red”…. A fitting color, as it acted as a cherry on top of the icing on the cake of my truly fabulous day at Haven!
