Places To Go In North Lake Tahoe Sunnyside Area

The Sunnyside area of Tahoe City is my favorite place to visit when visiting Lake Tahoe. There is so much to do in walking distance to where stayed in Tahoe City.  We stayed at this quaint cabin vacation rental in the Tahoe City Sunnyside area close walking distance to great places!

Fire Sign Cafes humble beginnings started in the lakehouse Mall in Tahoe City, CA in 1978. Bob and Christi Young purchased 50% of the business in 1980 when it was relocated to it’s current location on the West Shore and bought the other half in 1982. The Youngs worked incredibly hard to learn the business, figure out what their customers liked, and make Fire Sign Cafe a Tahoe legend. In 1992 Gumaro Martinez joined the kitchen crew, and has been there ever since. He works to send consistently great food out of the kitchen everyday. Fire Sign Cafe was featured in Rachel Rays “Tasty Travels” on the Food Network and has been written up in many publications over the years including Ski Magazine, Travel and Leisure , New York Times, Reno Gazette, Tahoe Living, Horizons in the Air and Sunset magazine (just to name a few). Bob and Christi relocated to Montana, where they opened another restaurant, Echo Lake Cafe. They are still the current owners of both, commuting back and forth to ensure that it runs smoothly, made easy by the great staff that have been there for years and years.
